Welcome to Good Shepherd' Parents' Association! The purpose of the Parents' Association is to enhance communication, understanding, and support among the Good Shepherd Episcopal School administration, faculty, parents and students. The Parents' Association shall strive to improve the quality of campus life by providing programs, activities, and fundraising events which shall encourage participation and unity within the School community and promote cooperation toward the education, growth and development of the child.

Parents' Association Meetings

These meetings are designed to bring together all parents to update them on school happenings. The Parents' Association Officers will showcase all of the volunteer opportunities that are available throughout the year. All Committee Chairpersons are present with information about their events and sign-up sheets for all interested volunteers. Occasional guest speakers will attend.

Parent Social (8/27) Curry Krasulak/Nicole Anspach - Great night to gather with school families

Fall Fundraiser (10/29): Curry Krasulak

This year's theme is a Casino Night called "Roulette on the River" and will take place Saturday, October 29th at a private home on the Loxahatchee River off Riverside Drive. Curry has secured the date, location and our vendor who will be bringing authentic, professional gaming equipment. It is an exciting night we are planning for, and hope you will be there and be sure to invite your families and friends.

Our ever popular class projects are in progress. We have a parent liaison from each class to coordinate the completion of each class project with the help from our art teacher, Mrs. Papali.

New Parent Ambassador Program (ongoing) Sarah Burlingame

This committee assists new families entering Good Shepherd to get acquainted with other Good Shepherd families and to adjust to their new environment through gatherings such as play dates.

Santa's Workshop (12/8-9): Kim Jones

The music/art rooms are transformed into a store for our students to do their Christmas shopping. Information will be sent home. Shopping is under way. We need a couple people who love to shop and know how to find a bargain! Let me know if you are available. We will also need "elves", to help the little ones shop and to wrap the presents on the day of the event.

The Good Shepherd Book Fairs (2)

This committee assists the media specialist in preparing and selling books during The Book Fair. In the fall we have a Scholastic Fair on Campus and in the spring we do a themed Book Fair at Barnes and Noble. At these fairs, books are purchased to earn the school library money for new books. Teacher wish lists are also on hand to donate a book to your child's class in their honor. Also, look for information that comes home about "Santa Books" prior to the Fall Book Fair.

  • Scholastic Book Fair - Books from Santa (10/31 - 11/4): (in conjunction with the Media Specialist) - This book fair is held in the school library. Shhhh..ALL PARENTS WILL NEED TO BUY A SANTA BOOK. Be discreet.

  • Spring Book Fair - Barnes and Noble (4/24 - 26): Cyndi McDonald - PLEASE NOTE , DUE TO SCHEDULING CONFLICTS THIS YEAR WE WILL HOLD A SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR THE WEEK OF 4/22 - 4/26). MORE DETAILS TO COME. Every year a book is featured and read by Coach who dresses up in character. Fun for the whole family!

VIP Day (11/22): Heather Vaughn in conjunction with the Music department.

We welcome grandparents and special friends to our campus on this special day to come and enjoy the student's musical accomplishments and to get acquainted with the child's school and class room.

Spring Sprint 5k (3/3): Cyndi McDonald/Jodi Pereira

Good Shepherd's 2nd annual 5K race through Tequesta. Fun for the whole family! After the race there will be fun for the kids in Constitution Park. Coach Trey sets up an obstacle course for the children that do not run. This year we plan to have vendors with items for sale such as athletic apparel, organic produce and much more. Look for more information.

Field Day (4/12 Pre-K/K - 4/13 1-5): Lauri Mathieu (in conjunction with Coach)

Come out and join the kids as they compete in various activities. Coach Trey sets up an obstacle course with 8 stations. It is a guaranteed good time!

Spelling Bee: (in conjunction with Mrs. Tress) - TBA

Math or Geography Bee: (in conjunction with Mrs. Sawyer) - TBA

Rebate Program (ongoing): Nicole Anspach

(Campbell's Soup labels, Box Tops for Education and Tyson labels). We have done Campbell's and Box Tops in the past. Tyson has started a new program also that will help the school. Nicole will provide information. We will have 2 class contests on who has the most labels. One contest for the first half of the year and one for the last half.

Recycling Coordinator (ongoing): Jilien Gordon

This person makes sure there is a box for the collection of phones and a separate box for the collection of printer cartridges for recycling. Filled boxes are sealed and labeled with prepaid UPS label and dropped off at UPS.

Alumni Picnic (5/20): Barbara Behl/Heather Vaughn - picnic held for GSES Alumni and families.

Teacher Tuesdays: Holly Weizer

This committee makes sure families are signing up to bring in a breakfast/lunch surprise for our teachers each Tuesday. Plan on enough for 20. Please bring breakfast items after drop off and lunch items around 11:00.

Yearbook: Julie Giddens

Julie has volunteered to put the yearbook together but she needs our help! She needs a parent to periodically check to make sure plenty of pictures are coming from each class to ensure great material for our yearbook! Julie will send out the new link to download class pictures. Group shots are preferred.

Room Mom Coordinator: Anne MacArthur

Room moms help the teachers coordinate class parties, community service projects and field trips. They are also responsible for the teacher gifts for Christmas and the end of the year. Anne will be supplying each room mom with a handbook. If you did not receive one, please let her know.

Christmas Charity: (in conjunction with Mrs. West)

Our School adopts a charity each year.

School Supplies: Tenli Sarcia

Used Uniform Sale (2x per year): Augusta Fitzgerald-Swan

This committee is responsible for collecting gently used uniforms, organizing inventory, and setting up sale. (next uniform swap: Wednesday, March 7th)

JTAA parade float (Dec. 10): Marcia Aydlette

We will represent our school by creating a float for the parade. DO YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW HAVE A TRAILER WE CAN USE FOR OUR FLOAT?

Spring Musical: (in conjunction with Mrs. Lindley) - TBA

We will need enough helpers with sewing and painting for costume and set preparation for this to happen.

Mom's in Touch: Natasha Penton/Andrea Green

This group gathers monthly to pray for our children and our school. Everyone is invited to participate.
